1 Shot After Robbers Ambush Construction Workers in Brandywine

BRANDYWINE, MD — Two men are on the run after they jumped two construction workers, robbing them and then shooting one before escaping on foot, according to police.

The incident happened at about noon on Wednesday at a construction site in Brandywine at Danville Road and Claggett Run Road.

"Once on scene officers discovered an adult male suffering from gun shot wounds," the Prince George's County Police Department tweeted. "Two suspects approached the victim, and shot him. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition."

The victim was shot in the upper body and flown to the hospital in critical condition, according to various media reports. The other man was not hurt.

New houses are being built at the construction site where the robbery happened. It is located in a mostly rural area.
