$100K Lotto Win Stuns Woman Who Had Never Played A Scratch-Off Ticket Before

A woman from Prince George's who's never bought a scratch-off ticket won $100K on her first try.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 63-year-old Prince George’s County resident who decided to play scratch-offs happens to be $100,000 richer after hitting big on a Monopoly X50 game. While at an Upper Marlboro BP gas station, she decided to spend $20 on a $10 instant ticket and two $5 scratch-offs.

Shortly after purchasing her instant tickets, the woman realized that her $10 Monopoly X50 scratch-off was a top-prize winner.

“I was so shocked,” the information specialist said, while sitting in the lottery winner’s circle at Maryland Lottery headquarters and trying to contain her giggles.
