$100K Lotto Win For Retiree To Pay For Home Renovation Projects
A Forestville retiree plans to use her $100K winnings from a Fast Play ticket to work on some home renovation projects.
FORESTVILLE, MD — A retired Prince George’s County woman who bought $20 worth of Fast Play tickets in one purchase was floored when she discovered she'd won $100,000.
The Forestville resident bought her two tickets at JB Liquors, located at 5842 Silver Hill Rd. in District Heights. After her purchase, she scanned the ticket on the terminal and was at first confused when the screen displayed a message: “take to lottery.” She asked a clerk in the store for clarification. The clerk whispered to her that she had won $100,000, Maryland Lottery officials stated.
The winner told lottery officials that she plans to use her prize money to work on some home renovations, and will invest the rest. A retired D.C. Metro employee, she enjoys spending her time either at the casino, the bowling alley or at her church.
