11-Year-Old Bowie Girl to Host Fun Run, Fitness Event

Kids ages 5 to 16 are invited to participate in the Alliance for a Healthier Generation sponsored program.

Eleven-year-old Jodi Evans of Bowie is taking steps toward a healthier future with her third annual Fun Run & Fitness Event.

The youth ambassador for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, founded by the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation, and designated “Ceiling Breaker” as part of the Clinton Foundation’s No Ceilings initiative, invites kids ages 5 to 16 to Bowie High School on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the event.

“It is important for youth to have a voice in the fight against childhood obesity because youth influence each other,” said Jodi in a news release. “The healthy habits we maintain today can become the healthy habits we maintain as adults.”
