18-Year-Old Found Shot In Vehicle Crashed In Woods Has Died: Prince George's Police
An 18-year-old Upper Marlboro man has died after police found him with gunshot wounds in his vehicle that he had crashed in the woods.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An 18-year-old Upper Marlboro man has died after police say he was fatally shot late Tuesday night.
On Jan. 9 around 11:20 p.m., police officers were called to the 5300 block of Sheriff Road for a report of a shooting and single car crash. Officers found Olamide Olakanye in the car with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died, according to police.
An investigation indicated that Olakanye had been shot in the 1200 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive and drove himself away from that scene after the shooting then crashed in a wooded area on Sheriff Road.
