18-Year-Old Suspect In 19-Year-Old's Fatal Shooting Convicted

An 18-year-old who was 17 at the time of a victim's fatal shooting last summer has been convicted. Three others face charges in the case.

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — An 18-year-old charged in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Anthony Lorenzo Ward III last summer has been convicted.

Four people faced charges after Prince George's Police say they killed Ward outside a convenience store on Marlboro Pike just after 3 p.m. in District Heights June 10, 2025. Two others - a man and a woman - were shot but survived with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Two of those suspects were 16 and 17 years old at the time of the fatal shooting, including now 18-year-old Joshua Hassan Marley Wilson. All four suspects were charged as adults.

The other suspects were identified as 19-year-old Michael Zion Jones, 19-year-old Jacorey White, a 16-year-old boy from Hyattsville and Wilson of Fort Washington.

Detectives said the suspects and victims knew each other and that the shootings stemmed from an ongoing dispute.

Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson announced Wilson has been convicted of first-degree murder in Ward's death. Wilson also has been convicted of first-degree assault, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence and related charges. Wilson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, plus 25 years. Sentencing has been scheduled for May 29.
