The suspects jumped the counter and filled duffle bags with prescription cough syrup; a police chase ended in Washington, D.C.

BOWIE, MD — Masked robbers hit two Bowie drug stores in less than half an hour Tuesday, filling duffle bags full of prescription cough medicine, police say.
The suspects sounded similar in both robberies, which mirror other cases in the region the FBI is investigating.
Bowie Police were first called to the CVS pharmacy, 6920 Laurel Bowie Road, at 10:14 a.m. Employees said two men jumped over the pharmacy counter and filled their duffle bags with prescription cough syrup. A third suspect stood guard at the entrance while holding some sort of pipe.

All three men fled in a dark-color Chevy Camaro possibly driven by a fourth suspect.
Employees at the Walgreen’s store, 15990 Annapolis Road in Hilltop Plaza, next reported a robbery at 10:26 a.m. Bowie Police say the same suspects entered the store with two men again jumping the counter with duffle bags. When a pharmacist tried to stop them, one suspect warned that he had a gun and ordered the pharmacist out of the way.
