2 Killed In Collision In Prince George's County: Police

Police are investigating a fatal collision that killed two drivers in Fort Washington early Friday morning.

BOWIE, MD — Police are investigating a fatal collision that killed two drivers in Fort Washington early Friday morning.

One of the victims was identified as Robert Peterson Sr., 48, of Waldorf. Investigators are working to identity the second driver and will release his name once his family is notified.

At about 2:35 a.m. July 21, patrol officers were called to Indian Head Highway at Livingston Road for the report of a collision. The preliminary investigation reveals the car driven by the unidentified victim was traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway in the southbound lanes.

His car collided head-on with Peterson’s car, and both of the drivers were pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators are working to determine why the unidentified driver was in the wrong lanes of travel, police said.
