2 Men Charged In Oxon Hill Fatal Shooting Of D.C. Man: Prince George's Police

Two men have been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a Washington, D.C., man that happened July 6 in Oxon Hill, police say.

OXON HILL, MD — Two men have been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting July 6 of 45-year-old Tyrone Jones of Washington, D.C.

On July 6 at approximately 10 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 800 block of Southern Avenue for a report of a shooting. Officers found Jones in a parking lot with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.

The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from a dispute. Police have charged 33-year-old Maverick Miller of Oxon Hill and 31-year-old Jujuan Hunter of Clinton with first- and second-degree murder and related charges. The victim and suspects knew each other, police said.
