Do you have any previous political experience? If so, please state and explain how that experience will influence your time in office if elected
.

I was elected mayor of Bowie in 2019. My time as mayor has taught me to trust the power of consensus. Having many minds address some of our larger issues ensures that the smaller details don’t get overlooked.

What do you believe is the single-most important issue facing voters in the district you’re looking to represent? How do you intend to address those issues?

The root of the issue is a lack of economic development. The death of retail has left us vulnerable. Some elected officials see Data Centers as the most viable option for revenue growth, but it's clearly not what the majority of our citizens want. So what’s left? We as council members need to use our platforms and resources allotted to us to stimulate our citizens to create and sustain industries that serve the needs of our people.

How do you differ from other candidates running against you?

I welcome the opportunity to get to know more about the other candidates.

How would your work experience benefit the goals/objectives you’ve outlined in your campaign and/or the office you’re seeking?

As the owner of a Larger Enterprise I’ve learned that growth comes when you master the art of attracting and retaining the best minds. That is what I believe the answer is to our problems here at home. Prince George’s County as a whole is rich with Academic Institutions. We need to incentivize these minds to engage with our local bodies of government so that no good idea withers away due to lack of notice.

What is your opinion of the work being done by the current office holder, and how will you improve on it? If that is you - how do you plan to continue improving upon what you've already accomplished?

My appointment to the council has come at a tumultuous time. District 4 like most of the County relied heavily on the dependability of the tax base employed by the federal government. We must diversify and strengthen our methods of generating revenue.

How do you feel about crime in your area and what steps can be taken to reduce it?

Crime in District 4 is steadily decreasing however we need to focus on more community centered solutions to remaining issues. That starts by being present ( by way of listening sessions, youth engagement events, resource giveaways, awarding of grants etc.) within areas experiencing crime.

How do you feel about transportation options in the area and what, if anything, should be improved upon?

Improving transportation in this area will be a journey. I believe the first step is incentivizing the community to participate in decision-making processes.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

The residents of district 4 should know that they are our greatest resource and that in me they have a champion and friend. We will get through these unprecedented times together.
