23 Businesses Patch Readers Want To Open In Bowie

BOWIE, MD — Is there a certain kind of business that is missing in Bowie? A type of restaurant you can't find in town? An activity that you have to travel miles away for? Or is there another specialty store you could use?

Bowie Patch recently asked our Facebook followers which businesses they want to see open in town.

Clearly, locals have a grocery itch. Multiple commenters wanted to see Whole Foods or Trader Joe's move into the area. And they love their bagels, with at least three calling for some type of bagel shop -- and one mentioning Einstein Bros Bagels in particular.

While one commenter would like to see more mom-and-pop shops, many others would like to see national chains like Cheesecake Factory and Greene Turtle move into the area, as well as small, local franchises like Jaleo and Ben's Chili Bowl.
