$25K Reward For Tips In Fatal Shooting Of D.C. Woman In Capitol Heights

An 18-year-old Washington, D.C., woman was fatally shot in Capitol Heights. A $25K reward has been offered for information about the case.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Friday. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.

On June 19 at approximately 11:05 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 1400 block of Doewood Lane in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. They found 18-year-old Daijah Cherry of Washington, D.C., with gunshot wounds. She died a short time later at the hospital, according to police.

Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.
