2nd Person Dies In Chillum House Fire
A 2nd person has died after a fire broke out at a fire in Chillum. Three people were taken to the hospital where a 92-year-old woman died.
CHILLUM, MD — A second person has died in the fire that killed a 92-year-old woman in Chillum Sunday.
All three residents were taken to the hospital where the woman died. One patient was listed in critical condition and the second man in stable condition, the fire department reported. On Tuesday, officials released updated information that the patient originally in critical but stable condition had died.
One of the two men injured in the fire was the woman's 97-year-old husband, but it isn't clear if he is the victim who died.

Firefighters were called around 9:36 a.m. Sunday to the two-story single-family home located in the 900 block of Somerset Place, where fire was pouring out of the basement. Crews quickly knocked down the flames, officials stated. They pulled two people out of the burning home and the third victim managed to escape.
PGFD personnel returned to the 900 block of Somerset Place in Chillum, leaving fire safety information at 119 homes, installing 12 smoke alarms and checking 18 others to ensure they were working properly.
