3 Big Winners In MD As Powerball Jackpot Grows To $1.4B

MARYLAND — What is now the third-largest Powerball jackpot in history is up for grabs on Saturday, as no one scored the $1.2 billion jackpot Wednesday and the prize grows to $1.4 billion on Oct. 7. The estimated cash value of Saturday's prize is $643.7 million.

However, three players in Maryland won lesser prizes of $50,000, said lottery officials.

The winning numbers for Wednesday, Oct. 4 were: 09, 35, 54, 63, and 64, with the red Power Ball number of 01. The Power Play was 2X, possibly multiplying the prize.

The three $50,000-winning Powerball tickets were purchased in Beltsville, Lutherville and Oxon Hill while another Lutherville business sold a $50,000 top-prize winning Bonus Match 5 ticket.

The first two $50,000-winning Powerball tickets were sold in Prince George’s County by Calverton Exxon located at 4040 Powder Mill Road in Beltsville and in Baltimore County by the Lutherville Giant #128 located at 2145 York Road. A player added Double Play to the third $50,000-winning Powerball ticket, which was sold in Prince George’s County by MGM National Harbor at 101 MGM National Avenue in Oxon Hill, according to the Maryland Lottery.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail are available online.

Players must redeem prizes larger than $25,000 by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore. The Lottery’s Claims Center in Baltimore is open by appointment only (no walk-ins). Click here to schedule an appointment.
