3 People Charged In Connection To Camp Spring Man's Death: Prince George's Police
Three Suitland residents have been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old Camp Spring man, police say.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Three people have been arrested and charged in connection to a murder that happened Nov. 8 in Camp Springs.
The suspects are 29-year-old Chanel Slaughter, 34-year-old Deandre Wilson and 36-year-old Joseph Lewis. All three suspects are from Suitland.
On Nov. 8 at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers were called to the 6300 block of Auth Road for a report of a shooting. Officers found 24-year-old Anthony Day Roberts of Camp Springs in the road with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man also was shot but his injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation revealed the suspects shot both victims during an attempted robbery. The suspects and victims did not know each other.
Slaughter, Wilson and Lewis each have been charged with first- and second-degree murder, attempted murder and related charges. Anyone with information about this case who would like to speak to a homicide unit detective can call 301-516-2512.
