$4.2M Lotto Jackpot Won By 19-Year-Old Riverdale Man
A 19-year-old electrician's apprentice from Riverdale plans to buy his family a house after winning a $4.2 million Multi-Match jackpot.
RIVERDALE, MD — A 19-year-old Riverdale man went from being an electrician’s apprentice to millionaire after winning a $4.2 million Maryland Lottery jackpot.
The winner, who occasionally plays Multi-Match, claimed his prize last month at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The young man said he prefers Multi-Match because of the game’s odds and because it is sold only in Maryland. He typically buys several tickets every other week at Town Center Market, 4705 Queensbury Road in Riverdale.

“I was dumbfounded. I just kept checking,” he said. “I was like, ‘Wow!’”
After confirming the win, he gathered his mother, father and sister and showed them the ticket. His family was equally shocked and excited, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The winner graduated from high school a year ago and has been studying as an apprentice electrician as he prepares for his career. He said the $4.2 million prize has changed some of his plans. The winner intends to buy a house for his family and use the money to establish a strong financial foundation for his future.
“It can open the door,” he said.
Town Center Market will receive a $4,200 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
