5 Firefighters Sent To Hospital After Battling Blaze That Killed Family Dog

Five firefighters were sent to the hospital while one resident was critically injured and a dog killed in a fire Monday morning.

Prince George's firefighters were called to a home in the 7400 block of Allison Street Monday around 7:48 a.m. Crews found flames shooting through the roof of the single story family home with a basement.

LANDOVER HILLS, MD — A house fire Monday morning left one resident with critical injuries, sent five firefighters to the hospital and claimed the life of a dog..

Prince George's firefighters were called to a home in the 7400 block of Allison Street Monday around 7:48 a.m. Crews found flames shooting through the roof of the single story family home with a basement.

One man was found during a search in the basement and taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was upgraded to stable condition, according to the fire department.

Five Prince George's firefighters were sent to the hospital for evaluation while one dog was found dead and another given oxygen by emergency workers.

Investigators continue to investigate the fire.
