$50K Lotto Prize Relied On Lucky Family Birthdays For Prince George's Senior Caregiver
A retired federal employee from Prince George's who now works as a senior caregiver used family birthdays on her lotto ticket, earning $50K.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A retired federal employee from Prince George’s County relied on family birthdays for her Bonus Match 5 numbers, a strategy that ended up netting her $50,000. She also matched enough winning numbers on other lines of her ticket to score an additional $430.
“I use mainly birthdays for my numbers and have had a lot of success, but never anything like this," the Largo resident told the Maryland Lottery. “I take care of an elderly person and had just helped her to bed when I checked the lottery website. Because I was exhausted and the house was quiet, when I saw that all of my numbers had come out, all I could do was look heavenward in gratitude and start crying.”
The 60-year-old winner plans to put her winnings to work clearing debt.
