79-Year-Old Fatally Hit By Vehicle While Crossing Road

LANHAM, MD — A 79-year-old Greenbelt woman has died after police say she was hit by a vehicle in Lanham.

On March 3 around 6:55 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to Annapolis Road at Ellerbie Street for a report of a collision involving a person. They found 79-year-old Becky Lynn Steele injured in the eastbound lanes of Annapolis Road, police reported.

Steele was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
