8th Grader Has Gun At School, Security Officers Secure Weapon: Prince George's Police

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A student at G. James Gholson Middle School in Landover brought a loaded gun onto school property Thursday.

Prince George's County Public Schools security officers recovered the gun from an eighth grade boy Thursday morning. A teacher saw the weapon on the student in the classroom and contacted administrators, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

The 14-year-old student will be charged with handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property, possession of a firearm by a minor and loaded handgun on person, the police department noted.
