9-Year-Old Dies In Clinton Car Crash

Prince George's County Police say the driver of the girl's car didn't yield when making a left turn.

A Clinton girl died Monday afternoon in a car crash that injured the driver of another vehicle, according to Prince George’s County Police.

The victim is 9-year-old Daichell Brown of Bolero Court in Clinton.

The crash at Woodyard Road and Canberra Drive was reported about 5:10 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered Brown suffering from critical injuries. She died at a hospital a short time later, police said.

Investigators say Brown was a passenger in a car heading northbound on Woodyard Road whose driver failed to yield the right of way when making a left turn onto Canberra Drive. The car struck a southbound car on Woodyard Road.

The driver of Brown’s car wasn’t hurt. The second driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not released the names of either driver or said whether charges will be filed.
