Accokeek Woman Killed, 1 Injured In 2-Vehicle Crash: Maryland State Police
An Accokeek woman was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash near Branch Avenue and Earnshaw Drive, police say.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An Accokeek woman was killed Wednesday night when the vehicle she was riding in was hit by a BMW.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m. Jan. 10, state troopers were called to the area of northbound Branch Avenue (MD Route 5) at Earnshaw Drive for a report of a multiple-vehicle crash. According to a preliminary investigation, a Hyundai was traveling southbound on Branch Avenue at Earnshaw Drive and attempting to make a left turn when it was hit by a BMW, according to state police.
The passenger in the Hyundai, 34-year-old Nickita Sammy, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was taken by ambulance to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the BMW, identified as Timothy Brickhouse, 26, of District Heights, was uninjured in the crash, according to state police.
