LANDOVER, MD — A woman with a gunshot wound walked into a hospital early Sunday morning, which authorities have linked to an illegal car rally held Saturday night.
The car rally was held in the 2300 block of Beaver Road Saturday into Sunday. The woman apparently was shot at the car rally and went to University of Maryland Capital Region Hospital around 3:51 a.m., according to Prince George's Police.
Prince George's police officers interviewed witnesses and scoured the crime scene, the police department stated.
"Property and cars are damaged. Many drivers are there to sell dangerous drugs and are in possession of weapons," Prince George's County Police Chief George Nader said.
The police department asks parents to talk to their children and advise them not to attend the car meetups.
"They are very dangerous and the consequences could be life-threatening. Further, attendees and participants could be arrested, fined and their vehicle could be impounded," the police department stated.
