Fire Breaks Out At University Of Maryland Building

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Firefighters were called to the University of Maryland campus for a report of a fire Saturday afternoon.

Crews arrived at the two-story building located in the 8100 block of Paint Branch Drive shortly after noon Aug. 22. Firefighters found fire shooting through the roof of a building, according to the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported. Crews secured the power to the building and scoured the site for any remaining hot spots.
