According to campus police, a resident was in another part of the apartment when she heard a noise coming from the common area. She opened the door and saw a man in the apartment's common area, according to campus police. The suspect then took off.

The resident said the suspect was wearing a gray shirt and dark pants, stood approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, and appeared to be in his early 20s.

That same day around 9:52 a.m., campus police were called back to South Campus Commons #3 for another report of a burglary.

Around 9 a.m., students found kitchen items on the floor in the common area. Officers searched the area to speak with potential witnesses living in nearby apartments and found a third residence had also been burglarized, according to campus police.

Around 7:30 a.m., students in the third residence found items left out in the kitchen area that had not been there previously, and in the living room.

Officers searched the area for witnesses on the rest of the third floor and didn't find any other apartments that had been reportedly burglarized.
