LARGO, MD — Police activity near Largo High School and Prince George's Community College prompted a campus lockdown Thursday morning.
Students at the community college were ordered to shelter in place, the school stated on social media. Numerous police vehicles and law enforcement could be seen stationed around the college.
Around noon, Prince George's police officers were called to the community college for a reported shooting. Officers learned that shortly around 11:40 a.m. Thursday, a teen boy had walked into a medical center with a gunshot wound not considered life-threatening. He is in stable condition, according to the police department.
The police department confirmed that the teen boy had been shot on the community college campus.
Out of caution, nearby Largo High School was placed on lockdown, too.
Both the college and high school are no longer under a lockdown.
