BOWIE, MD — The remaining suspect wanted in the robbery of a Bowie High School student in the school bathroom Oct. 22 has turned himself in.
A student told the Bowie Police Department's school resource officer that around 12:30 p.m. Oct. 22, two other students approached him. One had a knife and demanded he give them his cell phone. They then used it to transfer money, according to Bowie police.
The school resource officer and responding Bowie officers quickly took one student into custody and identified the second one. The police department's investigation into the robbery led them to remove the second student from campus.
All three individuals involved in the incident are Bowie High School students. The police department said the student who was arrested will be charged as an adult. Investigators said the student robbery isn't connected to the one that happened Oct. 8 near campus.
The second suspect turned himself in Wednesday to the Bowie Police Department. Police officers took the suspect, also a Bowie High School student, to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro. He will be charged as an adult and faces charges of armed robbery, robbery, assault and theft, the police department stated.
