At the time of his arrest, Monge had worked for the police department for five years and was placed on unpaid administrative leave.

According to the indictment, between Dec. 1, 2024, and Sept. 2, 2025, Monge allegedly committed sexual abuse of a minor while having temporary care and custody of the victim.

Monge was convicted in March 2026 of one count of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of second-degree rape.

Prince George's County State's Attorney Tara H. Jackson announced Wednesday that Monge has been sentenced to 65 years in prison, suspending all but 27 years, and five years of supervised probation. Monge is also required to register as a Tier III sex offender, which means he will be on the registry for life.
