Argument Escalated to Stabbing of Fort Washington Man: Police

A Temple Hills woman has been charged with murder in Friday's incident, police say.

Prince George’s County authorities say an argument between a man and woman in Temple Hills escalated into a fatal stabbing.

Police have charged GiGi Marie Thomas, 45, of the 5700 block of Linda Lane in Temple Hills in the death of Devale Lamont Avery, 42, of Clear Creek Drive in Fort Washington.

Detectives do not believe this was a random act.

Officers on Friday night found Avery suffering from stab wounds when they were called to a house in the 5700 block of Linda Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say it appears an argument between Thomas and Avery escalated into the fatal stabbing.

Thomas is charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a no-bond status at the Department of Corrections.
