Armed Robber Ambushes PG County Sanitation Crew Fixing Broken Water Main: Police

The robber, who had a gun, stole personal items before fleeing.

TEMPLE HILLS, MD — A robber armed with a gun ambushed a Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission crew as they were repairing a broken water main in Temple Hills over the weekend, and police are seeking the public's help in tracking down the suspect.

The four crew members were not harmed during the robbery, but had their personal items stolen, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

The robber approached the crew at around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday morning as they were repairing a water main in the 4100 block of 24th Avenue, the report states.

"The suspect, who had a gun, stole personal items from the victims and then ran away toward Kenton Place," says the report. "Detectives are actively working to identify the suspect."
