Arrest Made in Suitland Homicide: Police
A District Heights man was arrested in the District of Columbia on a first-degree murder charge.

A District Heights man was arrested in Washington, D.C., on a first-degree murder charge in the death of a Suitland man, say police.
The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Jamal Allen, 20, of Suitland. The suspect is 19-year-old Jawaun Anthony Nelson of the 6100 block of Hil Mar Drive in District Heights, police say.
Police were called to the 2700 block of Sweetwater Court in Suitland on Jan. 11 for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Allen inside a car suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives do not believe this was a random act.
Nelson was arrested Wednesday night in the District and is in custody awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
