SUITLAND, MD — A day after a fatal shooting in Suitland, police arrested a suspect Monday, charging him with murder in the death of Kelvin Alston, 33, of Suitland. The suspect, Marcus Wardlaw of Capitol Heights, faces first- and second-degree murder charges, as well as two other gun-related charges.

Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, the Prince George's County Police Department found Alston shot in his car on the 2300 block of Brooks Drive, a report says. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the police report.

Police say Wardlaw, 23, and Alston knew each other. The report says the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the two. Wardlaw "admitted his involvement in the crime," the police report says.
