Bank Robbery Suspect Waits for Police to Arrive

Prince George's County Police have arrested a Beltsville man who was reportedly standing outside the bank he had robbed.

A Beltsville man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly robbing the PNC Bank – and then waiting outside for police to arrive.

The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested Mark Lawrence MaCleod, 47, of the 4500 block of Ronlon Street in Beltsville.

Authorities charge that MaCleod went into the bank in the 10400 block of Baltimore Avenue about 11 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, officers reportedly found MaCleod standing outside the bank.

He was taken into custody without incident.

The preliminary investigation reveals MaCleod passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller complied. Police say MaCleod then walked back out of the bank.

He is now in custody of the Department of Corrections.
