Barricade Incident Reported In Capitol Heights (Updates)
A barricade situation was reported Monday morning, forcing one elementary school to go on lockdown in the Capitol Heights area.
(Updated 4:47 p.m.) CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — A barricade situation was reported Monday morning in the Capitol Heights area, forcing one elementary school to go on lockdown as a precaution. (Subscribe to the Bowie Patch breaking news alerts and daily newsletter to stay in the know.)
Officers were called regarding a man and a woman fighting inside a home in the 100 block of Tunic Avenue at around 7:45 a.m. A woman called police from inside of the home and told them a weapon was involved, according to The Washington Post.
Police set up a barricade, and some streets were blocked off at the scene. Capitol Heights Elementary also went on lockdown as a precaution.

The situation was deemed safe around 11 a.m. No one was injured.
Capitol Heights Police Chief Anthony Ayers would not say if anyone was taken into custody since the investigation is ongoing.
