Body Found Lying in the Road With Gunshot Wounds in Bowie

No suspects in the shooting, according to Bowie Police Department.

BOWIE, MD — A man was discovered lying in a tree-lined suburban road in Bowie riddled with bullets, and police are searching for a suspect.

Bowie police officers responded to the 15700 block of Everst Drive at around 10:41 p.m. on July 30 after someone reported that a man was lying in the roadway, according to the police report.

"Upon arrival, Bowie Officers checked the subject for a pulse which was negative," the report states. "Fireboard responded and attempted to resuscitate the subject, at which time they discovered the subject was suffering from several gunshot wounds."

Police say the victim was 44-year-old Cleve Craig Monnity of Lanham.

Prince George's County Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is currently conducting an investigation into the shooting. There is currently no suspect description.
