Bowie Academic Honors: York College Dean's List, Honor Society Inductions

The following academic honors and degrees were recently earned by students from Bowie (as reported by their schools and family members):

American Hebrew Academy: High school sophomore Rachel Sharkey, daughter of Rachel and Gregory Sharkey, was named to the Dean's Honor Roll for the fall 2012 semester. 

Randolph-Macon Academy: The following students have been named the the college-preparatory school's honor rolls for the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year. 

• Senior Cozette Boakye, daughter of Anthony and Henrietta Boakye of Mitchellville, was named to the Dean's List. 
• Senior Enyonam Odoom, daughter of Loreen and Francis Odoom of Mitchellville, was named to the Dean's List. 
• Eighth grader Nkeng N Morfaw, son of Emmy and Nick Morfaw of Bowie, was named to the Principal's List. 

Saint Francis University: Oseghae Iguad of Bowie was inducted as a Sigma Chi Brother.

Coastal Carolina University: 

• Sequoia Riley of Bowie was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology. She also made the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester
• Kelly L. Sinclair, an early childhood education pre-major, also of Bowie, MD, made the Dean's list for the fall 2012 semester.

Rochester Institute of Technology: The following Bowie residents made the Dean's List for the first quarter of the fall 2012 academic year. 

• Tanea Brown a first-year student in RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
• Nicholas Paiz, a fourth-year student in RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology.
• Jacqueline Schiff, a second-year student in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

Bowie State University: Two Bowie residents were inducted into Bowie State University's chapter of the Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society.

• Olabokun Adekoya, a senior majoring in business administration.
• Malik Petersen, a senior majoring in business administration.

York College of Pennsylvania: The following Bowie residents were named to the fall 2012 Dean's List at York College of Pennsylvania. 

• Christina Brown, a junior Radiography major
• Timothy Jumbelick, a sophomore Criminal Justice major
• Luke Higgins, a junior Undeclared-Business major
• Ariel Evans, a senior Nursing major
• Bethany Craig, a freshman Fine Art major

Messiah College: Bowie resident Rachel Peterson, a sophomore majoring in education dual certification preK-4 and special education, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester. 

West Virginia Wesleyan College: Bowie resident Maya Pollock has been named to the 2012 fall semester Dean's List.

Tennessee State University:  Mitchellville resident Brendan Hylton an aeronautical and industrial technology major, was named to the fall 2012 Dean's List.

University of Delaware: The following Bowie residents have been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester.

Savannah College of Art and Design:  Shavonne Maclin of Bowie recently graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design.

Florida Institute of Technology: The following Bowie residents were named to the fall 2012 Dean's List. 

• Samantha Martinez, a chemical engineering major.
• Melissa Echols, a forensic psychology major.

Chatham University: Andrea Williams of Bowie has been named to the fall 2012 Dean's List.
