Bowie Baysox To Salute Vets At Military Appreciation Night This Weekend
The Bowie Baysox will host a military appreciation night this weekend. Some of the proceeds will help a nonprofit for veterans.

BOWIE, MD — The Bowie Baysox will host a military appreciation night this Saturday at Prince George's Stadium. The game will feature several military-themed events and tributes.
Baysox players and coaches will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned during the game. Some of the auction proceeds will benefit the Travis Manion Foundation, a charity for veterans. Manion, a veteran who fought in Iraq, died in 2007 while leading a counterattack against enemy forces.
"The Bowie Baysox have a long track record of supporting and hosting our region’s military and veterans," Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye said in a press release, noting that more information about the nonprofit is posted at travismanion.org. "With over 20 years of hosting Navy Night and programs to bring service members from Joint Base Andrews, Fort Meade, AMVETS and more to the ballpark, we are excited to partner with Valor Home on this very special event."
