Bowie Coronavirus Update: 160 New Cases, 23 New Deaths In County
There are 160 total cases of the new coronavirus as of Monday morning in Bowie.
BOWIE, MD — There are 160 total cases of the new coronavirus as of Monday morning in Bowie, according to the Prince George's County Department of Health. There are now 183 new cases in Prince George's county, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 5,170.
The Maryland Department of Health confirmed Monday 23 new coronavirus-related deaths in the county, bringing the total number of deaths in Prince George's County to 186. There have been 1,232 to date in the county.
Prince George's County still has the highest number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus of any county in the state, according to the latest data from the Maryland Department of Health. Second on the list is Montgomery County, with a total of 3,645 positive infections.

Officials say 827 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, as of Monday morning. Lab results are pending for an additional 83 people experts believe died from the respiratory illness.

The Maryland Department of Health is releasing information about the new coronavirus by ZIP Code and the PG Heath Department began reporting that information on its website.
The CDC advises doing the following to stop the spread of the virus:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If this is not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60 percent alcohol.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Keep 6 feet of space between people.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
