Names Of Bowie Man Charged With Killing Stepfather Released
Authorities arrested a Bowie man for allegedly killing his stepfather and posting photos of the body on social media, reports say.

(Updated 6:30 p.m. July 9) BOWIE, MD — Authorities have released the name of a Bowie man in custody for allegedly killing his stepfather, according to media reports. The suspect, Navar Beverly, reportedly took pictures of the body, including one of him laying next to the victim, Ronald Pinkney, and posted them on social media.
A caller told 911 operators, “Son had killed my husband,” reports WTOP citing police documents. Police found Pinkney dead in the garage. Family members confirmed Beverly and Pinkney’s identities to WTOP.
The victim, a man in his 60s, was found dead at a residence in the 15000 block of Dalby Court Saturday morning. NBC Washington reports the body showed signs of trauma.

Bowie and Prince George's County Police searched for the suspect, who was spotted near the Hampton Mall at Hampton Park Boulevard and Central Avenue. A chase led back toward Bowie, where the stepson's vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Central Avenue and Devonwood Drive. After a foot chase, he was caught in the 1000 block of Dodson Court and taken into custody.
Tyler Hunter, a public information officer with Prince George’s County, told WTOP the victim died from upper body trauma.

Police say the suspect has a history of domestic disputes.
