Bowie Man's Gruesome Death in Miami Prompts Major Investigation

The body of Theodore Brown was found by a co-worker in the hotel hallway not far from Miami International Airport.

DORAL, FL — Police have released two photos of a man from Bowie, Md. whose body was found covered in blood earlier this week in the hallway of a Courtyard Marriott not far from Miami International Airport.

"If anybody has any information, saw the victim together with somebody else they’re eligible for a reward up to $3,000," Detective Daniel Ferrin told Patch on Thursday.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Theodore Brown of the 2900 block of Argentina Place in Bowie. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Ferrin said that police are trying to piece together the hours leading up to the murder in the hope of solving the crime. Published reports said that Brown had attended last weekend's Jazz in the Gardens music festival at Hard Rock Stadium

Doral police responded to the before 1:30 a.m., on Tuesday and discovered the body near an elevator of the hotel at 3929 NW 79 Street, according to Detective Marjorie Eloi of the Miami-Dade Police Department, which is handling the investigation.

"Responding officers discovered the victim covered in blood adjacent to the elevator," she said.

The hotel is located about six miles from Miami International Airport.

"A preliminary investigation revealed the 25 year old victim of Bowie, Md. was a guest at the hotel with a co-worker," Eloi added. "The co-worker advised detectives that earlier in the evening the victim retired to their room. When the co-worker returned to the hotel and exited the elevator he discovered Mr. Brown on the floor in a pool of blood."
