Bowiefest Vendors and Performers Needed

Food vendors, liver performers, a home and health expo and more will be part of the June 6 celebration.

Vendors and Bowie-based performers are needed to showcase the best that Bowie has to offer at this year’s Bowiefest celebration.

Join your neighbors at Bowiefest on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Allen Pond Park, located at 3330 Northview Drive.

Bowiefest is a long-standing tradition in the City bringing the best of Bowie’s civic organizations, entertainers, and businesses to one place for one day.

There will be rides, performances, contests, and a host of food and drink options throughout the park. There’s also an Arts and Crafts fair, a Business Expo in the Ice Arena and local organizations of every size and interest will be on hand to introduce you what they do and perhaps entice you get involved.

Entertainment

Entertainment takes place on two stages throughout the day. Stop by the Robert V. Setera Amphitheater and the Anne Arundel Medical Center Pavilion Stage for a variety of performances. Arts & Crafts Fair

Each year, the Soroptomist International of Bowie/Crofton organize an arts and crafts fair at Bowiefest. There you will find an interesting variety of handcrafted wares.

Home and Health Business Expo

When you need a break from all the fun in the sun, step inside the Bowie Ice Arena and visit the Bowie Home and Health Business Expo, organized by the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce.

Companies or businesses interested in participating should contact David Emanuel, Executive Director of the Chamber, at 301-262-0920.

Civic Groups and Other Organizations

Local nonprofit groups, and environmental and civic organizations can share information and promote their organizations by having a booth at this popular event.

Food

It’s always a treat to walk around Bowiefest, smelling the popcorn, cotton candy, and all of the different foods sizzling on the grills. When you get hungry, be sure to sampling several of the offerings that are for sale.

Nonprofit organizations and commercial vendors interested in selling food at Bowiefest should contact Matt Corley, Special Events Coordinator.

Rib Eating Contest

The Texas Road House, for the fourth year in a row, is sponsoring a rib eating contest at Bowiefest. No purchase is necessary and all contestants’ names will be drawn at Bowiefest. Texas Roadhouse, at 6011 Highbridge Road in Bowie, will be offering registration forms beginning April 1st. Stop by and fill out the entry form or visit their booth at Bowiefest on the day of the event to register to be a contestant.
