Boyfriend In Custody After Fatally Shooting Girlfriend: Prince George's Police

A 43-year-old man has been arrested after police say he fatally shot his girlfriend. He also threatened two other people with a gun.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 43-year-old man has been charged in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend, 43-year-old Courtney Blacksher.

On Sept. 23 around 4:05 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to an apartment in the 200 block of Harry S. Truman Drive in Upper Marlboro. They found Blacksher with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Around 7:10 p.m. that same night, police took Keith Maybin, Jr. into custody. He had just threatened two unrelated victims with a gun in the 8600 block of Central Avenue. Those victims were not injured, the police noted.

Maybin, Jr. has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, assault and related charges.
