Brothers Fatally Shot, Injured In Robbery, Attacker Arrested: Prince George's Police
Two brothers were shot, one fatally, in a robbery outside the sibling's apartment complex. The shooter has been arrested, police say.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 28-year-old Takoma Park man has been arrested in connection to the murder of 24-year-old Rudy Perez Gutierrez of Hyattsville.
On April 14 around 5:15 p.m., Perez Gutierrez and his brother were at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Guilford Road. Prince George's County police officers were dispatched to the area, where they found Perez Gutierrez dead and the second victim injured. He is expected to survive the shooting, police said.
An investigation revealed that Alex Quinteros had robbed Perez Gutierrez and his friend, and fatally shot Perez Gutierrez during the altercation. Quinteros did not know the victims, police said.

According to NBC Washington, Perez Gutierrez was born in Guatemala and had lived in the U.S. for several months. He was returning to his apartment from his construction job when he was killed. His family is raising money to send his body back to his home country.
Quinteros has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, attempted murder, robbery and related charges. If anyone has information relevant to this investigation, they are asked to call detectives at 301-516-2512.
