The City of Bowie will host the Holiday Arts + Crafts Market on November 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bowie Senior Center.
Admission will be free and open to all ages.
Visitors can look forward to shopping unique handmade works from local artisans and crafters, including jewelry, pottery, textiles, glass, photography, baked goods, woodwork, wreaths, and more.
Proceeds from vendor fees will support the City of Bowie Arts Scholarship program for graduating seniors pursuing art-related degrees.

Join the City of Bowie as we remember and honor the heroes on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the City of Bowie invites the community to come together to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, remember the families and survivors forever changed, and to recognize the first responders and service members who answered the call.
The ceremony will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, promptly at 9:00 a.m. at Allen Pond Park. It will include remarks from Bowie City Council, Prince George's County leaders, an honor guard presentation, and a silent commemorative walk around Allen Pond.
Please join us as we pause together to reflect, honor those we lost, and reaffirm a commitment that endures 25 years later: we will never forget.

Beyond Basics homeschool tutorial embeds foundational academic skills learning into play and art-integrated activities for students who know how to blend CVC words and are working on addition and subtraction.Our well-known homeschool tutorial provides an original curriculum that is customized to each group of enrolled students each semester. We first get to know you and your student(s) and then work to find the what and how that works best for this collection of human beings. Our strategies are highly interactive, play-based, art-integrated and often project-based. We craft an experience based on your student without leaving your student to drive instruction on their own. Each 3-hour session weaves a combination of skills across academic subjects (including "specials") into activities. We send home work samples and walk parents through what we did, encouraging you to take pictures, ask questions, and make requests. Rather than organizing based on age, we organize based on minimum skills and then provide open-ended activities that allow each student to engage on the level they are working at. Tutorial is offered twice per week. Join us for either day or both. You will get a different experience on each day.
Beyond Basics
For students who are ready to build on their basic skills.&nbsp;
Minimum Skills:&nbsp;
* Can decode 3-letter words&nbsp;
* Can write 3-letter words and use creative spelling to sound out longer, more complex words&nbsp;
* Can add and subtract to 10
This series of in-person classes will include: English Mechanics, Social Studies, Art, Science, Math, Creative Writing and more. All of the classes use games, small group work, movement, and/or hands-on activities. Teacher team will be lead by Meredith Kaunitz with instruction by a variety of teachers according to area of expertise.

Project -based work will expand basic skills learned in Elementary into more sophisticated problem solving, creation of art in multiple modalities, scientific thinking and background knowledge and a more in-depth understanding of the world. Creative Writing, English Mechanics, Math, Art, Science, Social Studies, Music, Theater and Book Club are among the possibilities that we will dig into for curriculum customized to the students in attandance. Teaching team will be lead by Meredith Kaunitz with various instructors teaching according to their area of expertise. You can enroll in either day or both.

This afternoon activity if perfect for homeschoolers and can be added onto our Preteens Place or Teen Time tutorials for an extended day with one drop off and one pick up.A call to all adventurers! Let’s dive into the wonderous world of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition where we’ll learn about how to create characters, basic rules of the game, and have some fun exploring a fantastical world while solving mysteries!
Recommended for Ages: 10-13, but we welcome teens 14-16 as well
D&amp;D is an analog version of the RPGs (Role Playing Games) they are already playing on their phones, tablets, computers and game systems, such as Roblox, Minecraft, Undertale, Legend of Zelda etc. This is a great way to encourage them to get off of a screen and into the world with other people. The game naturally teached social and emotional skills as they need to work together to conquer monsters and solve problems. Also embedded are skills such as cretive writing and lower level math skills. We also embed some opportunities to create visual art and to act scenes out.&nbsp;
