Camel Chomps on Man's Hand at Upper Marlboro Church's Christmas Show: Report

An ambulance was reportedly called, and then canceled, after a camel bit a man's arm during pre-production work at the church.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Prince George's County emergency responders reportedly headed to a church hosting a Christmas show on Saturday for a most unusual call: medical attention needed for a camel bite.

An ambulance was requested after a caller indicated a camel had bitten a man on the arm during preparations for a production at Evangel Cathedral in the 13000 block of Central Avenue, according to a Washington Post report.

It obviously wasn't too serious of an injury, however, because the ambulance was canceled before it arrived, the report stated.

The church's website describes the Christmas show as quite a big one, with 200 people in the cast and a "Broadway-style" production.

"Be amazed as beautiful live camels, sheep and many other live animals set the tone for a surreal nativity scene," the website states.
