Child Fatally Shot In Landover, Police Search For Suspect: Report
An eight-year-old boy was fatally shot in Landover, officers said. Police offered a reward of up to $25,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.
LANDOVER, MD — Police said an 8-year-old boy was fatally shot Tuesday in Landover. Officers identified the victim as Peyton Evans of Capitol Heights.
The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. on Brightseat Road, an incident report noted. Authorities added a group was gathered outside the home when a white sedan pulled into the parking lot, started shooting and fled in an unknown direction.
Officials explained they found the child suffering from an upper-body gunshot wound. Medics took the victim to an unnamed hospital where he was pronounced dead, the write-up informed.

The Prince George's County Police Department offered a cash reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
