Children Trapped on Six Flags Roller Coaster, Rescued by PGFD (Video)

Watch the remarkable GoPro video of firefighters rescuing children and adults stuck on the coaster Thursday night.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD β€” What was supposed to be an afternoon of fun at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro Friday went horribly wrong for a group of children and adults as a coaster became stuck high in the air.

The Prince George's County Fire Department had to use their bucket and ladder to rescue each of the people on the coaster, who waited for hours to be taken to safety. You can watch a GoPro video from the perspective of one of the firefighters in the video embedded below.

A total of 24 roller coaster riders were rescued without injury. The video shows everyone calm as the firefighters methodically transport each to the ground.

The call went out at 5:35 p.m. on Friday that the ride had stalled 80 feet above the ground and was tilting at a 30-degree angle. The last rider was rescued at 9:30 p.m.
