For some time, we&rsquo;ve heard a familiar refrain from members of the local Jewish community: &ldquo;Why isn&rsquo;t there a kosher deli in Bowie?&rdquo; This Sunday, August 23, Chabad of Bowie is answering that question&mdash;at least for one delicious afternoon. As part of the Chesapeake Baysox Jewish Community Day, we&rsquo;ll be bringing an authentic kosher deli experience right to the concourse at the ballpark.
The Kosher Concession Stand will feature a menu of classic Jewish favorites, with something for just about everyone. Fans can enjoy a Moses in the Basket, a crispy latke, a slice of deli roll, a fancy eggroll, or a traditional potato knish. Whether these are foods you grew up eating or something you&rsquo;re trying for the first time, it&rsquo;s a chance to enjoy the tastes and flavors of Jewish tradition without leaving Bowie.
Jewish Community Day is a chance for families, friends, neighbors, and people of all backgrounds to come together for a fun day at the ballpark. And what better way to bring people together than over good food? We hope the kosher concession stand will add a taste of Jewish tradition to the day and give everyone something delicious to enjoy along the way.
For Bowie&rsquo;s Jewish community, it is also exciting to see more opportunities for Jewish life happening right here at home. You shouldn&rsquo;t always have to drive elsewhere to find Jewish experiences&mdash;or even a good knish. Events like Jewish Community Day give us an opportunity to celebrate Jewish identity openly and proudly while sharing it with the broader community around us.
So come hungry, bring the family, and join us this Sunday, August 23 for Chesapeake Baysox Jewish Community Day. Gates open at 12 p.m., and the kosher concession stand will be waiting on the concourse. When Faith Meets the Fight: The Church’s Role in Domestic Violence 

Preteens Place is a drop-off homeschool tutorial where we will engage students in group and individual projects, games, and interactive problem solving.Our well-known homeschool tutorial provides an original curriculum that is customized to each group of enrolled students each semester. We first get to know you and your student(s) and then work to find the what and how that works best for this collection of human beings. Our strategies are highly interactive, play-based, art-integrated and often project-based. We craft an experience based on your student without leaving your student to drive instruction on their own. Each 3-hour session weaves a combination of skills across academic subjects (including "specials") into activities. We send home work samples and walk parents through what we did, encouraging you to take pictures, ask questions, and make requests. Rather than organizing based on age, we organize based on minimum skills and then provide open-ended activities that allow each student to engage on the level they are working at. Tutorial is offered twice per week. Join us for either day or both. You will get a different experience on each day.
Preteens Place
For kids who are not feeling like "kids" anymore. Preteens. Middle Schoolers. Whatever they like to go by. Project -based work will expand basic skills learned in Elementary into more sophisticated problem solving, creation of art in multiple modalities, scientific thinking and background knowledge and a more in-depth understanding of the world. Creative Writing, English Mechanics, Math, Art, Science, Social Studies, Music, Theater and Book Club are among the possibilities that we will dig into for curriculum customized to the students in attandance. Teaching team will be lead by Meredith Kaunitz with various instructors teaching according to their area of expertise. You can enroll in either day or both.

Art Play Learn Online

Take an art-creation journey each week that helps you develop your art technique and your artistic expression. Each week there will be a theme which will result in following instructor-led guided art and then adding your own personal artist spice to it using a variety of art media.Some examples from the past have been a guided drawing of an endangered animal with students' individual ideas of the landscape that animal might live in. The landscape ideas are formed using the Socratic Method of asking them questions that do not necessarily have to be answered out loud- but can be. Just letting those questions bounce around your head will help ideas form and get curated. In addition to learning art techniques and expression, students gain knowledge about the theme through fun facts, and games.
