Closings in Prince George's County Because of Weekend Blizzard
Snowstorm causes mall, animal shelter, government facilities and more to close early in Prince George's County.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – With the county under a blizzard warning from Friday afternoon to 6 a.m. Sunday, many schools and organizations have announced closings:
- Bowie Town Center closed Friday afternoon; check its Twitter feed or call its Shopper Hotline at 301-860-1818 for Saturday status.
- Prince George’s County bulky, regular trash, recycling and yard waste collections have been suspended for collection on Friday, Jan. 22. Crews will try to complete pickup on the next regularly scheduled collection day.
- Prince George’s County Government is closed on Friday, Jan. 22.
- Bowie State University is closed on Friday, Jan. 22. Spring semester will begin Tuesday, Jan. 26.
- Prince George’s County Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed through the weekend.
- Prince George’s County Public Library System will be closed through the weekend.
- The Prince George’s County Planning Board is closed on Friday, Jan. 22.
- Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex is closed on Friday, Jan. 22.
- Prince George’s County Circuit and District Courts are closed on Friday, Jan. 22.
- The Upper Marlboro Town Offices are closed on Friday, Jan. 22.
- The Prince George’s County Animal Shelter will remain closed through the weekend. Staff will be sheltering on site to be able to provide services to the animals.
- All Prince George’s Public Schools offices and facilities will be closed through the weekend.
- Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce is closed on Friday, Jan. 22.
