Cold Case: Police Need Tips In Decade-Long Search For Murderer
Kidnapped in Silver Spring and killed in Hyattsville, police seek tips on the murder of Leeson Samuels. The cold case is now a decade old.
HYATTSVILLE, MD — Tuesday was the 10-year anniversary of an unsolved murder, the Prince George's County Police Department announced. Detectives asked for tips and identified the shooting victim as 34-year-old Leeson Samuels of Adelphi.
Officers wrote that they found Samuels early on the morning of July 13, 2011. An incident report explained that he was in a grassy area of the 2300 block of 51st Place in unincorporated Hyattsville.
Samuels was kidnapped in Silver Spring while walking to his 2007 tan Chevrolet Suburban a few hours before authorities found his body, the press release noted. Officials added that Samuels' SUV was stolen during the kidnapping. Police informed that they recovered the car soon after in Washington, D.C.
